Iowa Workforce Development Unveils New Website

DES MOINES, IOWA – Iowa Workforce Development (IWD) today unveiled its new website, which is intended to simplify the presentation of important agency information and make it easier for Iowans to find the workforce solutions they need.

The new site comes with a new URL: https://workforce.iowa.gov, as well as a new structure focused on increasing clarity in a more user-friendly experience.

With the launch, the previous version of https://iowaworkforcedevelopment.gov will cease being accessible to the public effective immediately. Instead, any web browsers pointed at the old home page address and/or following old bookmarks will be automatically redirected to the new page. (IWD also has taken steps to redirect other frequently used pages, such as those for filing unemployment claims and accessing the online Unemployment Insurance Handbook.)

IWD’s new website comes as part of a broader effort to unify the State of Iowa’s online presence and make it easier for Iowans to navigate government web pages. More agencies are scheduled to make a similar transition to the new platform in the coming months – including some previously self-contained sub-units of IWD, such as the Vocational Rehabilitation Services division, which joined IWD in July as part of a statewide government realignment.

Iowans are encouraged to explore the new site and take advantage of the wide variety of workforce information that’s available online (only now in a much more accessible format). Any questions and/or concerns about locating something on the new pages should be directed to communications@iwd.iowa.gov.
