Fairfield Community School District Announces Hiring of Head Girls Basketball Coach

Fairfield, IA — Pending board approval, the Fairfield Community School District is proud to announce the hiring of Brian Witzenburg as the next Head Coach of the Fairfield High School Girls Basketball Team. Coach Witzenburg’s dedication and extensive coaching experience within the district make him an ideal leader to guide the program forward.

Coach Witzenburg has served the Fairfield Community School District for the past 19 years, initially working as a teacher associate before transitioning to the Food Service Department in 2022. His previous tenure as Head Girls Basketball Coach from 2017 to 2019 was marked by notable success, including two Southeast Conference Championships and a trip to the IGHSAU State Tournament in 2018.

In recent years, Coach Witzenburg has remained deeply involved in the district's athletic programs. He has served as the Head Coach for both 7th and 8th Grade Girls Basketball, in addition to coaching Softball and Track.

The Fairfield Community School District is confident that under Coach Witzenburg’s leadership, our student-athletes will continue to grow in skill, character, and sportsmanship while representing Fairfield with pride.
