Main Street Fairfield Announces Open 4 Business Grant Opportunity for Downtown Businesses
Main Street Fairfield is excited to announce a new opportunity for local businesses to grow and expand through the Main Street Iowa Open 4 Business Grant Program.
The Open 4 Business Grant is designed to support business expansion within designated Main Street districts by providing funding for projects that strengthen operations and enhance customer experience. Eligible expenses include inventory, equipment, marketing, computers, software upgrades, and other investments that contribute directly to business growth.
Grant awards are available up to $25,000; each applicant is required to provide a 25% match of the total funds requested.

Local Selection Process & Timeline
Interested businesses must first participate in a local selection process administered by Main Street Fairfield. This initial application serves as an entry point, and one business will be selected to move forward.
- Application Deadline: May 14, 2026
- Local Selection Announcement: No later than June 1, 2026
The selected applicant will receive technical assistance from Main Street Fairfield to complete the full grant application to Main Street Iowa.
As part of the final application to the state program, the selected business will be required to develop a three-minute video pitch outlining how the grant funds will be used to expand and strengthen their business. Main Street Fairfield will provide hands-on support in the creation of this video.
