Fairfield Art Association announces an exhibit "Reflections of Painted Tables" by artist Suzan Bates Kessel. The show will be in the Hallway Gallery at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center beginning December 5.

Original tables were hand painted with the theme of "Views of the Jefferson County Courthouse" from various locations around the town. The first was "Opening Night" capturing  the view on December  2007 at the FA&CC's Grand Opening. It was during a heavy snow storm and the reflection of the Courthouse in the front windows of the FA&CC was a memory to behold.  By coincident, this exhibit opening will take place the 18th anniversary of the FA&CC Opening weekend.

With five more tables available to paint in the Atrium, the theme sites moved around town when Suzan was inspired. They eventually included: "North B Street View of the Courthouse", "Steeple view from the McElhinney  House",  "Broadway and Main Street View of Courthouse", "If You could see the Courthouse from Dorothy Bell's Garden" and the final one "Courthouse Toast".

These tables provided an artful gathering/dining experience when used by visitors in the FA&CC, and were even featured in a magazine article about the FA&CC. Because of the artist's personal connection (as co-founder of the facility) she has created archival canvas & mounted prints of each table that will be displayed and available for purchase.  A percent of sales will benefit the Fairfield Art Association, which will celebrate it's 60th anniversary this coming year and has it's home in the FA&CC.

The FA&CC has recently updated and refreshed its atrium and public areas with a delightful modern decor,

much needed after severing the public it's first 18 years.
