Applications Open for the 2026 Jefferson County Farm Bureau Scholarship Program
Jefferson County Farm Bureau is once again investing in the future of local students by opening applications for the 2026 Scholarship Program. This annual initiative supports young leaders pursuing higher education—whether in agriculture or other fields—by offering meaningful financial assistance and recognizing students who demonstrate leadership, service, and commitment to their communities.
Scholarship Opportunities
Local applicants will be considered for awards of up to $3,000 through the Jefferson County Farm Bureau Scholarship. One standout student will also be submitted for consideration of the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation’s $2,500 state scholarship, which is renewable for four years (up to $10,000).
In addition, two students pursuing agriculture-related degrees will be considered for the one-time $1,000 Beverly Rubey Scholarship, supporting those passionate about advancing the future of farming.
Who Is Eligible?
Applicants must be:

Graduating high school seniors

Current Iowa Farm Bureau members or the children of members (membership is $45 annually and may be activated prior to applying)

Students with a minimum 2.5 GPA

Involved in extracurricular activities

Accepted into an accredited higher education institution, including community colleges and technical schools
Application Requirements
To apply, students must highlight their leadership experiences, community involvement, and future goals. A typewritten essay is required, explaining how the scholarship would help them contribute to Iowa Farm Bureau’s mission of supporting agriculture, farm families, and vibrant rural communities.
