All writers and all experience levels are welcome, and dont worry, no one will see what you've written. This hour is about getting your writing done.

4:45 PM-5:00 PM: Clean up and Farewells (until next Tuesday!)

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING?

Audience: Adults

Mah Jongg is a tile-based game that was developed in the 19th century in China and has spread throughout the world since the early 20th century. Players at FPL play an American variation of the game every week at the library. Stop by and see how the game is played and join the group if you want to learn the game. Teaching instruction for new players will take place in the first 30 minutes each week. The library also offers introductory books for check-out.

Cancer Support Group

An in-person safe space to talk about the difficulties of cancer. This new monthly meeting is for anyone whose life has been impacted by cancer, whether you are a survivor, currently in treatment, a caretaker, or otherwise.

Jefferson County Board of Supervisors Meeting

Meetings

The Board of Supervisors meets at 8:30 a.m. on most Mondays, and members of the public are welcome to attend. However, it is recommended that any agenda items be submitted in advance to the Auditor’s office no later than noon on Thursday prior to the meeting.

Minutes of the Board meetings are available for public viewing in the County Auditor’s office in the Courthouse, are on the Agenda & Minutes page, and are published weekly in the official county newspapers.

Supervisors Description & Duties

County governments are the quiet, consistent providers of essential services. The Board of Supervisors are the administrative / legislative branch of county government.

Responsibilities Include and Are Not Limited To:

• Setting the county budget & tax levy.
• Approve bonds and reports.
• Hire and supervise non-elected department heads.
• Set county policies. (See Jefferson County Code of Ordinances).

Terms & Elections

• The three Jefferson County Supervisors are elected to serve staggered four-year terms.
• Elections are held every 2 years.

Genealogy Group

Join local volunteer Barbara Rainbow for a monthly group exploration of genealogy and local history. Participants are welcome to bring any materials they would like to share or discuss with the group. In the coming months, particpants can look forward to presentations on learning to navigate ancestry.com, delve into the library's genealogy collection together, and make new friends!

Old stones up in the mountains hold the stories; a king becoming sick with greed; with wanting of more and more wealth, and a dwarven civilization of gold and diamond. To have such plentiful gold that it was as valuable as timber or stone in its day. Gold was a building material while currency was polished wood mined from tree roots. Something long ago forced the dwarves to abandon Al’Khaz, the city of gold. Its location, all its wealth, and all of its technology, all lost to time. Some say it was stolen away by the sea, some claim it was lifted into the sky to live among the clouds, others theorize that it left for a different plane entirely.As the humble and fabled people of Aegravalon struggles to defend Tregaidaran from the forces of Dourlaran and their terrible plans of land development, our heroes are faced with evidence that maybe Al’Khaz could be found. And if it can be found, maybe there is hope to win this war after all.---

The Jefferson County Caregiver Support Group is a community-based group that meets once a month with support from Jefferson County Health Center. It provides a welcoming, supportive space where caregivers can connect with others, share experiences, and feel understood as they navigate the challenges of caring for a loved one.

Whether you’re new to caregiving or have been in this role for years, this group offers encouragement, connection, and a reminder that you’re not alone.

Wanderer's Haul game club is kicking off in 2026! Game club will meet twice weekly at the Haul. Stop in for play days as often as you would like. Members can learn new games, share games they love, and help build a schedule of games based on their favorites and new releases coming out in 2026.

Jefferson County Board of Supervisors Meeting

Meetings

The Board of Supervisors meets at 8:30 a.m. on most Mondays, and members of the public are welcome to attend. However, it is recommended that any agenda items be submitted in advance to the Auditor’s office no later than noon on Thursday prior to the meeting.

Minutes of the Board meetings are available for public viewing in the County Auditor’s office in the Courthouse, are on the Agenda & Minutes page, and are published weekly in the official county newspapers.

Supervisors Description & Duties

County governments are the quiet, consistent providers of essential services. The Board of Supervisors are the administrative / legislative branch of county government.

Responsibilities Include and Are Not Limited To:

• Setting the county budget & tax levy.
• Approve bonds and reports.
• Hire and supervise non-elected department heads.
• Set county policies. (See Jefferson County Code of Ordinances).

Terms & Elections

• The three Jefferson County Supervisors are elected to serve staggered four-year terms.
• Elections are held every 2 years.

3:45 PM-4:45 PM: Write for 1 hr.
4:45 PM-5:00 PM: Clean up and Farewells (until next Tuesday!)

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING?

Bring your paper, pens, or laptop (whatever helps you write best). Headphones are optional but recommended.

Mah Jongg is a tile-based game that was developed in the 19th century in China and has spread throughout the world since the early 20th century. Players at FPL play an American variation of the game every week at the library. Stop by and see how the game is played and join the group if you want to learn the game. Teaching instruction for new players will take place in the first 30 minutes each week. The library also offers introductory books for check-out.

Whether you’re just starting your fitness journey, looking to stay active, or simply want to try something new, this class offers a supportive environment where everyone can feel comfortable and encouraged. Come solo or bring your friends, neighbors, or family members to move, laugh, connect, and feel great together! You’ll leave feeling refreshed, stronger, and more confident in your ability to keep moving toward better health. The class is free to attend, open to the community, and no registration is required—just show up and get moving!

Market Storytime

Join Youth Librarian Sara Martindale for stories and other fun surprises during the Wednesday afternoon Market Storytime during Fairfield Farmer's Market at Howard Park. Look for Sara under the shelter! This Storytime is aimed at children ages 2-5 with a caregiver, but all ages are welcome to join in the fun!

Date & Time:  Fridays 2:00-2:30 writing 2:30 optional share time
Location: Fairfield Public Library Conference Room

Aspiring writers ages 8 and up can come to the library for a quiet work session in the library conference room. Writers are provided a writing prompt or they can work on their own writing projects. The last 15 minutes writers can share if they so choose.

Join DJ every other Sunday for this epic high fantasy D&D campaign.

Old stones up in the mountains hold the stories; a king becoming sick with greed; with wanting of more and more wealth, and a dwarven civilization of gold and diamond. To have such plentiful gold that it was as valuable as timber or stone in its day. Gold was a building material while currency was polished wood mined from tree roots. Something long ago forced the dwarves to abandon Al’Khaz, the city of gold. Its location, all its wealth, and all of its technology, all lost to time. Some say it was stolen away by the sea, some claim it was lifted into the sky to live among the clouds, others theorize that it left for a different plane entirely.As the humble and fabled people of Aegravalon struggles to defend Tregaidaran from the forces of Dourlaran and their terrible plans of land development, our heroes are faced with evidence that maybe Al’Khaz could be found. And if it can be found, maybe there is hope to win this war after all.---

Drop in for a friendly, monthly wellness check with Public Health Nurse Deb Buch. Deb offers free blood pressure screenings and practical guidance on everyday wellness—from healthy habits and stress management to knowing when to follow up with your provider.

• Referrals to community resources as needed
