JCHC Recognized as One of the Cleanest Hospitals in the Nation

posted on 5/6/25

Jefferson County Health Center has been recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review as one of the Cleanest Hospitals in the United States, based on the most recent Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) patient experience data.

JCHC earned a 5-star rating for cleanliness for the reporting period of April 2023 to March 2024. This data was release in early 2025. JCHC is one of only 374 hospitals out of more than 6,000 nationwide to receive this top rating and one of just 13 in Iowa. This places JCHC in the top 6% for all hospitals across the country for cleanliness.

“This recognition is a direct result of our Environmental Services team’s dedication to creating a safe, healing environment for everyone who walks through our doors,” shared Brent Feickert, Chief Financial Officer at JCHC. “Their work is fundamental to our mission of delivering care you can count on.”

Cleanliness plays a critical role in preventing infections and promoting patient safety and satisfaction. This recognition highlights JCHC’s commitment to excellence in every aspect of care.
