Fairfield Community School District, FCEA Finalize Extra Service Agreement
FAIRFIELD, IA — The Fairfield Community School District (FCSD) and the Fairfield Community Education Association (FCEA) have finalized a new agreement outlining compensation for extracurricular and Schedule B positions for the next three school years.
Approved on February 16, the agreement will take effect at the beginning of the 2026-27 academic year.
The updated agreement establishes increased compensation for staff members who serve students in athletics, fine arts, clubs, and other co-curricular activities. These roles include head and assistant coaching positions, student activity sponsors, and music and arts directors.
Under the agreement, the percent increase each employee will see connected to their extra service contract will be:
-
9.3% in 2026-27
-
8.5% in 2027-28
-
10.4% in 2028-29
A one-time, $500 longevity stipend is also included for employees who have completed 12 years of service in any Schedule B position within the district.
“These positions play a vital role in providing students with meaningful opportunities beyond the classroom,” said Superintendent Zach Wigle. “We are proud to support the educators who dedicate additional time and expertise to our athletic programs, fine arts, and student organizations. Their hard work strengthens our schools, enriches the overall student experience, and will allow us to better fulfill our mission.”
