Encore Screening of When The Maharishi Came to Town – One Night Only
If you missed the packed-house premiere of When The Maharishi Came to Town earlier this summer, you have one more chance to experience it on the big screen. Fair Field Productions is hosting a free encore presentation of the film on Thursday, August 28 at 7:00 PM at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center.
This event is sponsored by the David Lynch Graduate School of Cinematic Arts and will feature a special Q&A session with the film’s creators immediately following the screening.
About the Film
When The Maharishi Came to Town is the latest installment in the award-winning Fairfield History Series, directed by local filmmaker Dick DeAngelis and brought to life with the help of more than 100 community volunteers.
The documentary tells the fascinating story of how Maharishi International University (MIU) made its way from California to Fairfield in the 1970s and how its presence transformed the town in ways that continue to shape our community 50 years later.
Like the chapters before it, this film is more than history, it’s a story about people, change, and the spirit of Fairfield.
