Chamber Talk Highlights Creative Community Hub: GG’s Signs & Designs

posted on 4/8/26

In this episode of Chamber Talk, Gail Hunter of GG’s Signs & Designs shares the story behind her creative downtown shop and how it has quickly become a welcoming space for artists, makers, and community members. After retiring from teaching, Gail followed her passion for art and opened a quaint shop featuring handcrafted items from local Iowa vendors, along with her specialty—custom barn quilts and personalized signs.

Beyond retail, GG’s Signs & Designs has evolved into a hands-on creative hub. Gail hosts workshops, classes, and small group gatherings where participants can explore painting, resin art, bottle crafts, and more. The space is also available for birthday parties, team-building activities, and casual creative time, making it a unique destination for both individuals and groups.

Gail also shares her encouragement for others considering a new venture later in life—don’t wait to pursue your dream. Her story is a reminder that creativity and entrepreneurship can begin at any stage.

Watch the full conversation to learn more about Gail’s journey, upcoming workshops, and how GG’s Signs & Designs is building community through creativity.
