Maharishi School 8th graders are hosting a charity event to donate to local organizations that are helping feed the hungry, and international organizations helping Ukrainian Refugees; from 11:30am to 2:00pm on April 24th at the Maharishi School courtyard kitchen.
The students, aided by Maharishi School Faculty, will prepare a variety of delicious organic soups served in beautiful ceramic bowls – yours to keep!
For just $25, you can enjoy soup and keep the bowl.
Empty Bowls began about 32 years ago as a non-profit organization; however, in January 2016, Maharishi School first hosted the event.
This year the students and teachers plan to again build on the success of prior years’ Events. There will be four different soups: Carrot Ginger Soup; Creamy White Bean Soup with Kale, Rosemary, and Lemon; Herby Tomato Soup, and Classic Minestrone Soup. The soup will be accompanied by bread and a variety of cookies.
The ingredients used for cooking are all organic and donated by Everybody’s Market; Breadtopia Bakehouse will donate the bread; the students and parents are baking a variety of cookies.
Each student was assigned to create a minimum of eight bowls, and their experienced Ceramics teacher inspected them. Additional bowls will be available for sale at $25.00 each.
This Empty Bowl Event brings our communities together to raise awareness and funds to overcome growing food challenges here in Jefferson county, surrounding areas, and Ukraine.
