Chamber to Celebrate Local Manufacturers at October 8 Luncheon
The Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce will recognize the contributions of local manufacturers at its Manufacturers Appreciation Luncheon on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center.
The event brings Chamber members and the manufacturing community together to connect, share business updates, and learn about technology shaping the industry. Doors open at 11 a.m., with the program beginning at 11:30 a.m. Lunch will be catered by the Fairfield Golf & Country Club.
Thanks to the support of event sponsors, attendance is free for those working in the manufacturing sector. Registration for all other attendees is $50 per person.
Exploring Artificial Intelligence in Manufacturing
Featured speaker Paul Gormley, Project Manager with Iowa State University’s Center for Industrial Research and Service (CIRAS), will present a practical overview of artificial intelligence in manufacturing.
His presentation will explore how manufacturers are using AI in office and administrative work, engineering, operations, workforce development, and decision-making. Attendees will learn about emerging capabilities and how companies can begin adopting AI in useful and responsible ways.
Gormley has worked with CIRAS for more than 25 years, helping hundreds of Iowa companies with innovation, marketing, growth, and technology adoption. His current work focuses on AI training, strategy development, and statewide workforce initiatives that help businesses understand and apply the technology.
Recognizing Fairfield’s Manufacturing Community
Mayor Connie Boyer will proclaim October as Manufacturers Month, recognizing manufacturing’s important role in Fairfield’s economy and community.
Local manufacturers in attendance will also have an opportunity to share updates about their businesses, giving attendees a chance to hear directly about developments within Fairfield’s manufacturing sector.
