Effective March 18, 2020 all city buildings will be closed to public access. City employees will be working and services will continue remotely to the extent possible. These closures will be in effect until further notice. The City Council meeting will go on as scheduled on Monday March 23rd. If you are interested in City business, we are encouraging the general public to watch the live stream of the Council meeting rather than come to the meeting physically. City office hours are 8 to 4:30 and the phone number is 641-472-6193. All City utility questions can be answered through this number. Paying your City utilities: We offer a convenient drop box in the alley on the North side of City Hall, your payment will go into a safe locked box. Or You can pay online at https://www.govpaynow.com/gps/user/plc/a001w2 or by visiting our website cityoffairfieldiowa.com, click on "Pay Bills" and follow instructions to pay with a credit / debit card (additional processing charges will apply). o You may sign up for automatic payment from your check or savings account, the payment is withdrawn on your remittance date. You will need to provide us with a voided check or a letter from your bank on their letterhead stating the routing and account number, along with a signed form from our office. There is no additional processing charge for this service. The Fairfield Public Library will provide curbside delivery of materials, to be arranged in advance by calling 641-472-6551 ext. 2. Due dates are still in effect and customers shall return materials in the book drop. Those who participate in book clubs and discussion roundtables can continue to do so via conference call. Call the front desk for more details between the hours of 8 AM -5 PM Monday through Friday. The Fairfield Park and Rec Center will be extending all memberships for the duration of time of closure.
