Petal Flower Boutique Celebrates Chamber Ribbon Cutting
The Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce officially welcomed Petal Flower Boutique to the Chamber family with a well-attended ribbon cutting on Wednesday, August 19.
Owner Cari Anderson shared a little about the journey that brought her to this moment. In her previous role at Cambridge Investment Research, Anderson spent years helping others grow their businesses. Now, as a business owner herself, she is experiencing that journey from the other side. Several of her former Cambridge coworkers were among those who attended the celebration to show their support.
That spirit of supporting others is at the heart of Petal. Anderson spoke about her passion for encouraging budding entrepreneurs and pointed to the many products from other small businesses available throughout her shop. Rather than viewing other businesses as competition, she believes there is room for “us all to succeed” and that businesses and communities are stronger when they support one another.
For Anderson, that philosophy also extends to serving customers through all of life's moments—the joyful ones and the difficult ones. Through personalized floral arrangements and the shop's selection of gifts and non-floral items, she hopes Petal can help make those moments a little more meaningful.
Guests were treated to a tour of the shop—including a peek inside the floral cooler—before heading outside for the official ribbon cutting. Fellow Chamber member Soarin' Soiree created a beautiful balloon backdrop for the occasion.
The ribbon itself provided one final memorable moment. When Anderson went to make the ceremonial cut, the ribbon wasn't quite ready to cooperate. After several attempts, she flipped the scissors over and finally made the successful cut, drawing plenty of laughter from Anderson and the crowd.
The Chamber is pleased to welcome Petal Flower Boutique and looks forward to seeing Anderson's passion for flowers, entrepreneurship, and community continue to grow in Fairfield.
