Manufacturers Appreciation Luncheon Celebrates Fairfield’s Industry, Innovation and Community
The Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce brought local manufacturers and community partners together on Thursday, October 8, for its annual Manufacturers Appreciation Luncheon. The gathering recognized the companies and employees whose work, innovation and investment help shape Fairfield’s future.
The program offered a look at both the opportunities ahead for manufacturing and the progress happening locally. Paul Gormley with Iowa State University’s CIRAS shared how artificial intelligence is changing the manufacturing world, giving attendees an opportunity to consider what these developments could mean for their businesses.
Mayor Connie Boyer presented a proclamation recognizing October as Manufacturers Month in Fairfield and honoring the impact of local manufacturers on the community.
One of the highlights of the luncheon was hearing directly from participating manufacturers. Each company shared a “state of the union” update, offering a snapshot of its business and current developments. The positive news and momentum shared throughout the room gave attendees plenty to celebrate.
The day also included a connection to Fairfield’s manufacturing history. Maasdam Barns provided a historic Turney Wagon, manufactured right here in Fairfield. Decorated for fall and displayed outside, the wagon offered a photo opportunity and a reminder of the community’s longstanding manufacturing roots.
The Chamber thanks Fairfield Golf and Country Club for providing the meal, Fairfield Arts & Convention Center for the welcoming room and attentive support, and Wolf Creek Farm for the centerpieces.
The luncheon was made possible through the support of these sponsors:
- Presenting Sponsor: Carl A. Nelson & Company
- Program Sponsor: Dexter Laundry
- General Sponsor: Servpro of Ottumwa/Oskaloosa
- Beverage Sponsors: TDT CPAs and Advisors, P.C., and Liberty Communications
We also extend our appreciation to the Manufacturers Appreciation Planning Committee for its work organizing the event and to the Chamber Ambassadors, who welcomed guests and helped the day run smoothly.
Above all, the luncheon was an opportunity to thank Fairfield’s manufacturers and their employees. Their contributions reach beyond the products they make, supporting our community through continued investment, new ideas and a commitment to Fairfield’s future. The Chamber is proud to celebrate their work and grateful to everyone who helped make this year’s gathering a success.
