Jefferson County 4-H Introduces New SPIN Clubs for Youth in Grades 4–12

posted on 9/1/26

Jefferson County 4-H is introducing a new way for local youth to explore their interests through SPIN Clubs, short for Special Interest Clubs.

Unlike traditional 4-H clubs, SPIN Clubs are designed as six-week experiences focused on a specific project area. Clubs will meet on Friday afternoons and are open to youth in grades 4–12. Participants may register for one club or choose multiple opportunities based on their interests.

This year’s SPIN Club topics include Crafting, Forestry and Wildlife, Cooking, STEM, Sewing, News Network, Animal Science, and Photography & Digital Communications.

The short-term format gives youth an opportunity to try something new, develop hands-on skills and connect with others who share similar interests without making a year-long commitment.

Registration opens Tuesday, September 1.

More information about individual clubs and registration is available through Iowa State University Extension and Outreach – Jefferson County:
