Handmade Quilt Raffle Supports Restoration of Historic Bonnifield Cabin
A beautiful handmade quilt is helping preserve one of Fairfield's most treasured historic landmarks.
Local quilter Kathy Tollenaere has generously created and donated a twin-sized quilt that will be raffled to benefit the restoration of the historic Bonnifield Cabin. The quilt is currently on display at the Fairfield branch of Iowa State Bank, where it will remain through July 20. The winning ticket will be drawn on August 3.
Visitors can make donations and enter the raffle at the display. Stamped, addressed envelopes are available for those wishing to donate, and photos of raffle tickets will be texted and/or emailed to each participant as confirmation.
All proceeds will support the ongoing restoration of the Bonnifield Cabin, Iowa's oldest surviving two-story log house, helping preserve this important piece of Jefferson County history for future generations.
