FCSD Projects Second Year of Enrollment Growth
The Fairfield Community School District is projecting its second consecutive year of certified enrollment growth, continuing a positive trend following several years of declining enrollment.
Preliminary 2026 figures show an estimated increase of 10.09 students in certified enrollment, bringing the district's projected total to 1,494.10 students. Final enrollment figures are expected to be finalized in mid-November.
Certified enrollment is the official student count used to help determine state aid funding and plays an important role in district planning and budgeting.
Certified enrollment totals over the past six years are as follows:
- 2021: 1,607.40
- 2022: 1,568.26 (-39.14 students)
- 2023: 1,525.81 (-42.45 students)
- 2024: 1,479.66 (-46.15 students)
- 2025: 1,484.01 (+4.35 students)
- 2026 (projected): 1,494.10 (+10.09 students)
“Seeing our certified enrollment continue to grow is an encouraging sign for our district and community,” said Superintendent Zach Wigle. “We are grateful for the trust our families place in us and remain committed to providing an environment where every student has the opportunity to belong, learn, and grow. We will continue working each day to build strong relationships, provide meaningful opportunities, and support student success.”
The district remains focused on its vision of becoming a destination district where all students belong, learn, and grow.
