Fairfield Elks Welcome October with Favorite Meals, Football and Fellowship

Golf Tournament Rescheduled; Picnic Date to Come
Soggy weather forced the lodge to postpone its annual golf tournament from September 27 to Sunday, October 4. The tournament is scheduled for 9 a.m. at Walton.
Because the Elks picnic had originally been planned for October 4, that gathering will move to a new date. Members should watch the lodge’s Facebook page for the updated picnic plans.
Interested in Becoming an Elk?
The Fairfield Elks are looking for new members who want to connect with others and become part of an organization centered on service, charity and fellowship.
According to the national Elks organization, applicants must be at least 21 years old, believe in God, be a United States citizen who pledges allegiance to and salutes the American flag, and be of good character.
The application process requires a sponsor who is an Elks member in good standing, along with two additional Elks references. After applying, prospective members complete an interview and lodge vote process, followed by orientation and initiation if approved.
To get started locally, call Fairfield Elks Lodge #1192 at 641-472-2171 and ask about membership, sponsorship and current dues. You can also visit the Elks membership page to learn more and submit a membership inquiry.
