Fairfield CSD Names Heather Buckley as Next Washington Elementary Principal and District Curriculum Director

posted on 3/10/25

The Fairfield Community School District has named Heather Buckley as the next principal of Washington Elementary, beginning in the 2025-26 school year.

Buckley will also assume oversight over all K-12 curriculum implementation. She will succeed Principal Tina Townsend, who is retiring at the end of the academic year.

Currently, Buckley serves as the elementary principal in the Cardinal Community School District, and she previously was the shared curriculum director in the district as well. Buckley taught second grade in the Liberty School District in Missouri, as well as fourth grade in FCSD from 2010 to 2013.

“We are thrilled to welcome Heather Buckley back to our Fairfield team,” said Superintendent Zach Wigle. “Her leadership experience is outstanding and she understands what it’s like to work in our district. I am confident that she will do great things in this role. She knows what our community needs and has what it takes to lead effectively.”

Buckley will officially start on August 1, 2025.
