Chamber Talk Previews Fairfield Kiwanis Kids’ Day
A favorite Fairfield tradition returns Saturday, September 19, and John Reeves of Fairfield Iowa Kiwanis joins Chamber Talk to share what families can expect from this year’s Kiwanis Kids’ Day.
The day begins with the Kiwanis pancake breakfast and continues with the Kids’ Day Parade, bringing children, families and community members together for a full day of fun. Reeves discusses the planning behind the event, ways volunteers can help and why Kids’ Day remains an important part of the organization’s service to local youth.
The conversation also offers a broader look at Fairfield Kiwanis and the difference its members make throughout the year. In addition to organizing Kids’ Day, the club supports local children through playground projects, scholarships and opportunities for children with special needs to attend camp.
Fairfield Kiwanis welcomes adults of all ages and backgrounds. The club meets twice each month for an evening meal, conversation and project planning, sometimes accompanied by a guest speaker or tour of a local business. Community members can explore the organization by attending a meeting as a guest, volunteering at Kids’ Day or applying for membership.
