Chamber Talk Highlights Community Support Behind Teacher Appreciation Event
Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce Board members Jessica Anderson of Washington State Bank and Carrie Lathrop of Cambridge Investment Research joined Chamber Talk to discuss this year’s Teacher Appreciation Event. Anderson and Lathrop serve as co-chairs of the event, scheduled for Wednesday, September 23, from 4:30–6 p.m. at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center.
During the conversation, they shared how local businesses, volunteers and community organizations work together to recognize area educators and school employees. Approximately 30 to 35 organizations will provide classroom supplies, resources and information, while local businesses are contributing gift cards, giveaways and other expressions of appreciation.
The episode also explores several additions to this year’s event. Culinary students from Fairfield, Cardinal and Van Buren schools are helping prepare the food, giving students a meaningful way to thank the educators who support them. Complimentary childcare will also be available, with activities led by community partners.
Anderson and Lathrop explain why the event means so much to those involved, how donated supplies help reduce educators’ out-of-pocket classroom expenses and how community feedback continues to shape the celebration each year.
