Chamber Celebrates ServiceMaster by Rice’s New Membership with Ribbon Cutting
ServiceMaster by Rice celebrated its new Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce membership with a ribbon cutting at noon on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at Fairfield Central Park.
Representing the business were Trey Rice; Devin Lickteig, Director of Operations; Matt Groenendyk, Area Manager; and Emily Keller, Project Manager. Chamber Ambassadors introduced themselves before hearing from the team about the company’s history, restoration services and work responding to disasters.
The celebration also included an delicious lunch. The ServiceMaster by Rice team treated attendees to a meal catered by My Eatzz! BBQ, adding a shared meal to the midday introductions.
During the gathering, the team shared that the family-owned business began 72 years ago when Trey’s grandfather started a carpet cleaning company. It has since expanded to 14 locations—12 in Iowa and two in southern Minnesota—and provides fire, mold and disaster restoration services.
The company’s work extends beyond its regional locations. Team members described responding to hurricanes, wildfires and tornadoes through national disaster recovery efforts, with their farthest response taking them to Thailand. They explained that the variety of situations they encounter brings something different to their work each day.
ServiceMaster by Rice has served the Ottumwa area for some time and looks forward to continuing to grow and serve the surrounding region. For Fairfield-area residents and employers, its restoration services offer help when property damage disrupts home life or business operations.
The Chamber thanks the ServiceMaster by Rice representatives for sharing their story and providing lunch, and the Ambassadors who joined the celebration to welcome a new member.
