Apply Now: Empower Your Organization with Training & Funding to Boost Volunteer Engagement

Unlock new opportunities to engage your community in meaningful service with the “Training + Implementation Funding” programs through Volunteer Iowa, now open for applications. These programs offer nonprofits and local governments the tools and resources to drive positive change and extend their mission, culminating in a transformative 9/11 Day of Service.

Applications are now open for the following three opportunities:

  1. Service Enterprise Program

Funding for nonprofits of up to $4,000 and access to a national, research-based organizational accreditation program in volunteer engagement ($15,000 value) designed to empower nonprofits to extend their mission and budget through strategic volunteer engagement. An informational webinar will be held on Wednesday, October 30, from 1-2pm. Registration is required.  Application deadline is November 15, 2024.

  1. Youth Service Board Development
    Empower young people in your community with this program that provides $3,000 in funding to develop a youth service board for your organization or city. These boards will plan and lead a 9/11 Day of Service in 2025, inspiring peers to get involved and building a foundation for future youth-led service. Applications are due by December 13th, 2024.
  2. City Volunteer Engagement Initiative
    Tailored specifically for city and county government, this program offers $4,000 in funding and expert training to help city staff design and implement volunteer engagement strategies that meet local needs. Whether it’s enhancing current programs or launching new initiatives, this cohort-based opportunity will provide support every step of the way. An informational webinar will be held on Tuesday November 5th from 11:00-11:45am; registrations are required. Applications close January 30th, 2025.

All three programs include comprehensive training, funding, and one-on-one coaching to help you successfully implement your initiatives. Participants will gain the skills and resources to host impactful 9/11 Day of Service events in their communities.
