Alliant Energy Offers Grants for Community Tree Planting Projects
A tree planting project can do more than add greenery. Trees can bring shade to public spaces, improve the appearance of a neighborhood and help communities save energy. Alliant Energy is inviting communities in its service area to apply for grants to support those projects.
Through its Community Tree Planting program, Alliant Energy offers grants of up to $5,000 per community. Eligible projects may plant trees near parks, schools, libraries, community buildings and streets. Projects must provide energy saving benefits to the community.
Alliant Energy partners with Trees Forever to administer the program and provide planning and educational support. The grants are part of Alliant Energy’s One Million Trees initiative.
Applications are due November 15, 2026. Alliant Energy expects to announce grants in March 2027, award funding in April and support planting in spring or fall 2027. Local organizations with an idea for a public planting project can review the requirements and work with their community to explore an application.
