Business Climate
- State rules and regulations that affect Iowa’s business climate to assure they do not inhibit businesses from expanding or locating in the state and preserving Iowa’s Right-to-Work status.
Tax Reform
- Improving our states business competitiveness by reforming our commercial and industrial property tax system. Simplifying and reducing corporate income taxes.
- Flattening and streamlining the personal income tax code.
Economic Development
- Expanding business and school collaboration to ensure that Iowa will have the skilled workforce to grow and create high paying jobs.
- Establishing programs to provide assistance and resources to sustain local ownership of businesses through succession planning techniques.
- Maintaining Tax Increment Financing as a local economic development tool.
- Amending current state assistance wage threshold requirements to better reflect project and community dynamics.
- Improving training, development, and retention of skilled labor in business and industry through the use of increased training grants and public/private partnerships.
- Increasing funding for Iowa Economic Development Authority and its business and community project assistance funds.
- Improving the transportation infrastructure by increasing the funding options to address critical needs.

Fairfield Economic Development Association (FEDA)

FEDA, established in 1977, works closely with local community development organizations, financial institutions and businesses, as well as agencies and elected officials in local, county, state and federal government to help facilitate economic growth in Fairfield by providing assistance in locating financing for business and community development projects, grant administration and land development.
