Thank you for joining the Young Professionals of Fairfield and Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce for the May installment of TED Talks: Dine & Discussion at Yummy's Gourmet Cakes on Wednesday, May 10th from 12:00-1:00pm.
Over a casual lunch, discussion was held on the short TED Talk video titled, “Millennials: Who They Are & Why We Hate Them” by Scott Hess. The video served as an introduction to the conversation about specific ways that millennials can connect to Fairfield and how Fairfield can connect with millennials. Here is some of the feedback that was discussed: The Chamber is interested in reaching more millennials. How do you decide whether or not you will attend a networking or educational event?
Would you be interested in a Chamber organized program that arranges mentorships with established local professionals? If so, what components would you find most valuable or intriguing?
What events, programming or initiatives do you suggest the Chamber offer that would specifically appeal to a younger generation of professionals?
Are you interested in representing Millennials in a focus group that meets with the Chamber’s Retail and Restaurant Managers Working Group to discuss your spending and shopping habits? Do you have anything else that you would like to share? If so contact, Lindsey Waugh, fellow Millennial and Chamber Administrator at lwaugh@fairfieldiowa.com or 472-2111
