Local Employers Invited to Iowa Workforce Development Listening Session in Fairfield
Iowa Workforce Development (IWD), the Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce and Grow Fairfield are inviting senior business leaders and human resources professionals to participate in an upcoming Employer Listening Session designed to gather direct input from local employers about workforce needs and challenges.
The roundtable event will take place Monday, October 5, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to noon at Indian Hills Community College, 112 S. Court St. in Fairfield.
IWD senior leadership will be on hand to listen directly to area employers and learn more about the issues businesses are facing when it comes to finding and retaining employees. Discussion will focus on workforce challenges, skill gaps, hiring barriers and emerging workforce needs.
“Local employers are on the front lines of our workforce challenges, and their perspective is critical,” said Mendy McAdams, Executive Director of the Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce. “This is an opportunity for our business community to have a direct conversation with Iowa Workforce Development leadership, share what employers are experiencing and help shape strategies that can better support our workforce.”
The listening session is part of an effort to strengthen collaboration between employers and workforce partners. Organizers encourage local business leaders and HR professionals to attend and provide their firsthand perspectives.
Your input matters. Information shared during the session will help inform collaborative workforce strategies and provide IWD with a better understanding of the needs of employers in the Fairfield area.
