Explore "Anywhere Our Ghosts Go Heavy" in the Fairfield Art Association's New Mixed Media Exhibition

The Fairfield Art Association will open a new mixed media exhibit "Anywhere Our Ghosts Go Heavy" by  Cedar Fall's artist Angela Waseskuk. An artist's reception will be in the Main Gallery at the FA&CC Friday August 7 from 6-8:00 PM.

The artist works in drawing and textiles with an interest in incorporating elements of the natural world through observation, natural dyes, and mixed media. She values connection in many forms, and current work explores the relationships of small acts of life to deeper, more universal rhythms. She received a BFA in painting from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, IA, an MFA in sculpture and dimensional studies from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University in Alfred, NY, and studied at the Yale Summer School of Art in Norfolk, CT.

Angela states "My work focuses on our most human moments, the ones that are at home in the smallest of occurrences, that don’t always register as significant but fill our minutes, hours, and days. The ones we grieve the most when they are altered, and the ones that haunt us when we lose them completely. The ones that make a life. These are the ghosts I believe in, and my current work explores their earliest shadows in my life."
