Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce Santa Drive-By for Fairfield The Fairfield Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce we will be having a drive-by visit with Santa on the Fairfield square on the following nights from 6PM-8:30PM. Friday, December 11th, 2020 Saturday, December 12th, 2020 Friday, December 18th, 2020 Saturday, December 19th, 2020 Santa Joins the Annual Christmas Parade Hosted by the Rotary Club of Fairfield**: Wednesday, December 23rd, 2020 **Santa will be on the west side of the square in Fairfield on Wednesday, 12/23, to join the Annual Christmas Parade. He will still be handing out 2020 Christmas ornaments. Darien Sloat, Chamber CEO said, “We are so happy to be able to offer this event at this time. We want our community to do its part to slow the spread of the pandemic and help take pressure off of our overworked health care staff. With the input and support of Chris Estle at Public Health, we believe we can make this happen in a way that will keep everyone safe.” Santa and his helpers will be stationed by his house on the Northeast corner of the Fairfield square where he will greet carloads of families who would like to spend a few moments with Santa, and collect a candy cane and a 2020 Fairfield ornament which has a cutout to insert your family picture. Kids can drop off their letter to Santa at that time, or place it in his special mailbox near his house on the square at a later time and day. Santa and all his helpers will be wearing masks, and will be physically distanced. We ask that families please stay in their cars. This event has been endorsed by Christ Estle, Director of Jefferson County Public Health, but is subject to change dependent on any new mandates by the Governor. Special thanks to our presenting sponsors, Everybody’s Whole Foods and JC Huffman Cabinetry. The Huffman family have been strong advocates for making something happen this year despite the trials that the pandemic has presented to our country. JC Huffman has manufactured the commemorative 2020 ornaments, and created gift bags that include the ornament, candy cane and a letter from Santa. Come see us in Fairfield! Questions? Annual Restorations made to Local Fairfield Holiday Decorations Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce 2020 Holiday Season Fairfield, IA Do you love the holiday decorations in Fairfield? Find out more about Fairfield's holiday decorations in this article! Annual restorations are done to the holiday decorations that are featured in Central Park in Fairfield. The Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce and Chamber Christmas Committee commission these restorations to local skilled restorers, Earl Stimson and Eric Goodrich. The decorations that are displayed every year are set up by the City of Fairfield crew during the month of November, and remain displayed through the New Year. Through rain, snow, wind and all weather, Fairfield's holiday decorations light up the Fairfield downtown square every evening during the holiday season. In order to maintain these decorations, restorations take place to mend any damages that have occurred over time. Restorations can include various reconstruction projects including sanding, repainting, and more! The Chamber's annual Trees of Lights Campaign, which the Christmas Committee oversees, funds these restorations. On your average year, the Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce hosts the annual Holiday Lighting Ceremony on the Friday after Thanksgiving. This event marks the first night of the holiday season where all of the holiday lights are turned on in Central Park for everyone to enjoy. This year, due to COVID-19, the Chamber was unable to host this long standing tradition; we are all still enjoying the holiday decorations nonetheless! Please enjoy the slideshow below of the restorations made this year for Fairfield's holiday decorations. A considerable amount of time and effort is put into Fairfield's holiday decorations; not only by our local restorers, Earl Stimson and Eric Goodrich, but also by the City of Fairfield crew who devotedly completes the set up each and every year in Central Park. 2020 Fairfield Holiday Decoration Restorations: |
