The Fairfield Goodwill Store offers great value for our retail shoppers and a convenient recycling option for the public. The store is owned and operated by Goodwill of the Heartland, a not-for-profit organization serving 16 counties in southeastern Iowa and three counties in western Illinois. As a community resource, Goodwill also provides services funded in part by the Goodwill stores in our territory so people can overcome barriers to independence and improve their well-being.

The goods entrusted to Goodwill by the community also provide an outlet for inexpensive, but quality clothing and household items for our fellow residents who need such a resource.

Goodwill's 13 retail stores and its used computer gear store located within our territory also serve as locations for vocational training services for goodwill clients. At Goodwill, we teach participants life skills and other skills they can use to get and retain a job within our communities. In 2010 Goodwill served thousands of clients through a variety of intensive and basic services.

Our recycling initiatives help the environment while aiding area residents. In 2010, Goodwill of the Heartland diverted more than 26 million pounds of items from area landfills. Shopping at a Goodwill store can offer "aha!" moments when a shopper finds something unique or valuable. To help our customers enjoy more "aha!" moments, we offer three additional ways to shop Goodwill:

Within each store in our territory, we offer high-value, unique items via silent auction. These items can be found in a glass display case near the front of the store, and auction items regularly rotate, so shoppers must visit often to see the latest offerings. Here, you might find high-end designer purses, antiques and collectibles.

Goodwill Reboot is where shoppers can find used computers and related equipment. The store, located at 1410 S. First Avenue in Iowa City is operated by Goodwill staff that can help you find the system for your needs. Inventory changes regularly, so if a you don't find something on the first trip, keep trying!

shopgoodwill.com is our online site. Goodwills from across the country use this site to sell unique items. Collectibles, jewelry and antiques are some of the items that can be found on this online auction site.

The Fairfield Goodwill store is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.  As a convenience for donors, the site offers a donation drive through. Donation hours match the store hours.
