Get ready for a PET-ACULAR Art Walk (or shall we say "ARF Walk") as Fairfield's four-legged friends and their owners hit the streets for the3rd annual "Bark in the Park" Art Walk.

There will be plenty of tail-wagging good fun as dogs and other lovable pets and their owner's parade in their costumes, Friday August 6th. This colorful, crowd-pleasing event is sponsored by 1st Fridays Art Walk.

Registration for the parade starts at 6 p.m. in front of the Fairfield Convention Center. Parade time starts at 7:00 p.m. sharp, with winners announced at 8:30 p.m.  The Pet Parade provides wholesome fun and entertainment for the entire family, whether they are participating or watching the spectacle from the sidelines. Contest categories include best pet costume and best in show.  Leashes are required. $5 entry fee for each pet entered in the parade. Prize baskets donated by local merchants and ribbons will be awarded to the parade champions.

Each participant and their pet will have an opportunity to be photographed.  Participants will be able to order a photo greeting card of themselves with their pet for only five dollars. Proceeds from each photograph purchased will benefit 1st Fridays Art Walk programming.

Pet owners can also enter their pets in the "Fairfield American Pet Idol contest".  Does your pet have a special trick or skill?  Bring it out Art Walk night to show off.  The contest will be held at 8:00 pm in Central Park  and in addition to receiving the coveted 1st place award, the winning pet will be given the chance to perform in front of the crowd.
