Women's Networking Luncheon (12:00PM)
INFORMATION:
What: Women's Networking Luncheon
When:Wenesday, March 3, 2010
Time: 12:00 - 1:30 pm
Where: Fairfield Golf & Counrty Club
Speaker: Mary Pat Knight-Leaders Inspired
Presentation: Inspiring Your Inner Leader
Renowned speaker to address leadership at Women's Networking
Luncheon
The Fairfield Area
Chamber of Commerce will host speaker Mary Pat
Knight, founder of Northern Illinois-based Leaders InspiredTM for a special 90-length Women's
Networking Luncheon on Wednesday, March3, from
12:00-1:30 at the Fairfield Golf & Country Club. Knight, will lead a vibrant conversation
about inspiration and leadership and will cover a new vision for business
leadership, creating expanded and inclusive conversations, accountability and
how to inspire others to their best.
The presentation is designed to create a deeper level of
conversation around leadership that defies the old paradigms of command and
control. The participants will listen as
Knight lays out the framework for inside out leadership - where leadership
meets personal development. They will
also learn methods of inspiring themselves as well as others into active and
authentic leadership.
"Leadership has become a buzz word in today's business
environment", says Knight, "but the cultivation of leadership that reflects our
authentic selves requires incredible personal discipline and perseverance. This is where the personal development
movement has a payoff and what I know about myself is expressed a way that
moves others into purposeful action."
At
the sold-out 2009 Peace Summit
in Vancouver, His Holiness the Dalai Lama made a proclamation: "The world will
be saved by the western woman." Knight
is committed to helping women cultivate their expression of leadership. She notes many women try to mimic men in the
workplace. They do this because the male
executive has been romanticized in the media and pop culture. When women do this, they end up dissatisfied.
Instead
of mimicking men, she teaches her clients how to embrace their femininity and
how to show up as POWERFUL women. She
coaches women to accept who they are and what they stand for. By cultivating their strengths, she shows
women how to come into their own in the workplace.
"When
you master your leadership and become purposeful in your life, your business
will up-level, you will save time, money and energy and you will step into a
level of purpose and success that you have only dreamed about. Your impact and your ripple will change your
world and have a lasting impact on many others around you", Knight is often
found telling her students and clients.
Mary
Pat Knight is the founder of Leaders Inspired www.LeadersInspired.com, based in
Northern Illinois. She brings 26 years
of executive leadership to the table, in an inspired career where she has been
fortunate to have managed every functional area of a business. She was an executive with Lettuce Entertain
You Enterprises, The National Restaurant Association and founder of The
Interfusion Experience. Prior to
founding Leaders Inspired, she was the Chief Operating Officer of Food For
Thought Enterprises. Her passion is to
create a new conversation about inspired leadership through business coaching,
mentoring and organizational consulting with entrepreneurs and small
businesses.

Free Film At The Fairfield Public Library (7:00PM)
INFORMATION:
What: Free Film at the Fairfield Public Library
Subject: MINE
When: Friday, March 12, 2010
Time: Doors open 7:00 pm, film starts at 7:15 pm
Hailed
as "absorbing," "a must see," "Oscar material"
and "the best movie at SXSW," MINE is a documentary about the
essential bond between humans and animals, set against the backdrop of one of
the worst natural disasters in modern U.S. history: Hurricane Katrina.
This gripping, character-driven story follows New Orleans residents as they attempt the
daunting task of trying to reunite with their pets who have been adopted by
families all over the country, and chronicles the custody battles that arise
when two families love the same pet. Who determines the fate of the animals-and
the people-involved? A compelling meditation on race, class and the power of
compassion, MINE examines how we treat animals as an extension of how we view
and treat each other.
Doors
open at 7:00, and the feature film begins at 7:15pm. $1.00 donations for
organic popcorn help the library to renew its movie license.
Friends
of the Library will hold a booksale the next day, Saturday from
9:00-5:00. Filmgoers who can help setup the booksale after the movie are
invited to remain an extra half hour.
