The Official Blues Brothers Revue (7:30PM)
INFORMATION:
What: Performing Arts Artist Series - The Official Blues Brothers Revue
When: Thursday, February 2 at 7:30 pm
Where: Fairfield Arts & Convention Center
The Blues Brothers
are what can only be described as a musical, comedic, and cinematic legend. The
Official Blues Brothers Revue combines the comedy, music and mayhem from the
original movie, as well as songs from the five popular albums put out by John Belushi
and Dan Aykroyd.
This live concert is a faithful recreation of the characters, Jake and Elwood,
and a spectacular tribute to Chicago's rich history of blues, R&B and
traditional soul music, played with the same soul and conviction of the
original Blues Brothers Band.
The Official Blues Brothers Revue is the only Blues Brothers show to be
officially sanctioned by Dan Ackroyd and the John Belushi Estate and it is as
close as you will get to Jake and Elwood and the music and magic of one of the
greatest musical partnerships in the history of the silver screen.

Kick The Winter Blues With Bryce Janey - Down Home Blues (7:30PM)
INFORMATION:
What: Kick the Winter Blues with Bryce Janey - Down Home Blues
When: Saturday, February 11
Time: 7:30 pm
Where: Fairfield Arts and Convention Center
Southeast Iowa Blues Society welcomes Bryce Janey - winner of the 2011 Iowa
Blues Challenge winner solo/duo comes to the Fairfield Arts and Convention
Center, Saturday, February 11 at 7:30 p.m. Doors to open at 7:00
p.m.
Small town southern Iowa in the middle of the night, playing that
old slide guitar "blowin' out the lights" - that best describes Bryce Janey's
solo acoustic show. Janey started performing at the age of 13 in his hometown of
Marion, Iowa, in a blues trio alongside his mother on drums, and his father on
guitar. He quickly launched into a solo career, performing in nationally
renowned venues and festivals across the U.S. Janey celebrates traditional blues
in his dynamic performances, while showcasing his talents as a songwriter of
one-of-a-kind electric and acoustic melodies; his numerous albums have achieved
international attention. His latest compilation, Down Home Blues, captures the
texture of his soulful vocals and haunting slide guitar, reminiscent of the old
Delta bluesmen, but with a Midwest style and blend that is distinctly his
own.
Janey was inducted into the Iowa Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame with the
Blueband in 2007. He was runner up at Buddy Guy's Legends Club in Chicago Battle
of the Bands in 2001 and Grammy mention with Bob Door, Patrick Hazel, Molly Nova
and Billylee Janey for the "Two Trios" CD in 2000.
