Mission Statement |
To continually improve the business climate for its members through the stimulation of economic growth, enhancement of political awareness, promotion of civic development and improvement of the quality of life in the Fairfield area.
MEMBERSHIP: Jane Anne Harl
Men’s Blast Off
- Organize the annual Men’s Blast Off golf tournament
Ladies Blast Off
- Organize the annual Ladies Blast Off golf tournament
Ambassador Club
- Continue with current programming
Member to Member Discount Program
- Design and implement a member-to-member discount program for Chamber members
New Member Services
- Organize and execute a New Member Reception.
- Develop, implement and host a get-to-know the Chamber coffee
Annual Banquet
- Organize and execute the Chamber Annual Awards Banquet to recognize excellence in the business and greater community
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT: Mike Nunn
Creating Destination Quality/Boost Tourism
- Maintain CVB synergy, to include Chamber partnership in programming and marketing of events, services and opportunities for visitors
Manufacturers Relations
- Organize and host annual Manufacturer’s Appreciation Luncheon
Chamber to School Relationships
- Organize and host annual All Teacher Reception
- Partner with area schools to involve Chamber members more directly in existing school-to-work programs through awareness programming
Revitalization Loan Program
- Continue to offer the Fairfield Revitalization Loan Program and maintain area covered by plan.
- Work with banks to more aggressively market the program to small business owners
Fundraising
- Conduct at least one fundraising event or campaign in 2008
Speed Networking
- Facilitate three separate Speed Networking events in January, May and October
- Increase profile of this new piece of programming within community and membership
COMMUNITY AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT: Tammy Dunbar
Business Showcase
- Organize and promote the 2008 Business Showcase to include new programming aimed toward driving foot traffic and revenue generation
Holiday Committee
- Continue to organize special events and lead fundraising efforts for annual downtown December holiday activities
- Holiday Lighting Raffle
- Holiday Lighting Ceremony
- Continue the repair, repainting, and refurbishing of any decorations needing such, and adding pieces for the Central Park holiday activities
- Transfer ownership of newly-constructed storage facility to the City of Fairfield
- Raise awareness for Chamber’s role in maintaining Holiday decorations
Street Sweepers Ball
- Continue to work with the Beautification Committee to organize and promote the Annual Street Sweepers Ball to include sponsorship of participants
Women’s Networking Luncheon
- Continue to organize and promote the Women’s Networking Luncheon
PUBLIC AFFAIRS: Rosie Witherspoon
Farmers’ Market
- Raise awareness of Chamber involvement in the Farmer’s Market
Legislative Breakfast
- Organize and host Legislative Breakfast Series in 2008 with installments in January, February and March
Fairfield Merchants Association
- Increase participation in Fairfield Merchants Association through education and advocacy
- Restructure group to reflect input and preference of participants
- Host at least on educational event and/or consulting visit by SBA or other representative
Welcome Packets
- Work with CVB to provide welcome packets for visitors and new residents
Sponsor the December Fairfield 1st Friday Art Walk
- Co-sponsor the December Art Walk and Gingerbread Extravaganza
- Install programming intended to maximize night-of retail receipts for square-based retailers
Candidate Forums
- Organize, promote and execute Candidate Forums to include community input whenever a local election is held
INTERNAL AFFAIRS: Patty Adam
Agri-Business Relations
- Continue to organize and host the annual Farm Bar-B-Q to honor our farming community and include a survey of participating sponsors.
Business After Hours
- Continue the Business After Hours and make available a fee-based consultation service to promote each event
Chamber Communications
- Maintain regular media and membership correspondence via
- Media releases
- Membership advisories
- Newsletters
- Provide the community a report on Chamber activities through the generation of a monthly Chamber Page in the daily newspaper
Chamber Website
- Complete a full overhaul of the Chamber Web site
Founder’s Day
- Host annual Founder’s Day luncheon
