Since it was started the Fairfield Manufacturers Association has been involved with programs and organizations throughout the community and state that encourage education and training of future business leaders and workers. Some examples of these are:
Fairfield Chamber of Commerce Working closely with the Chamber and Fairfield Economic Development Association (FEDA) is essential in promoting local jobs, encouraging expansion and recruiting additional manufacturing to the area.
Iowa College Foundation ICF has provided over 50 years of financial support to provide private higher education to students.
Business Horizons A program put on by the Iowa Association of Business and Industry (ABI) is a weeklong course is for high school students who have an interest in business. Students learn about products, business decisions, building a business and teamwork within a company several local students have attended.
Gold Card Program This program encourages high school students to achieve higher grades and/or perfect attendance. A student with a 3.8+ grade point average or perfect attendance qualifies them for a coupon book to be used at participating retailers. A 4.0 grade point average qualifies them for an additional Gold Card Certificate at participating merchants. Many thanks to these retailers!
Fairfield Manufacturers Association Scholarships Each year the Association gives out two $500 dollar scholarships to high school seniors.
By combining their knowledge and resources, the member companies of the Fairfield Manufacturers Association will continue to work towards expanding the current manufacturing base and work with the Chamber and FEDA to recruit additional manufacturing to the community.
