CVB HIGHLIGHTS |
Comments from the CVB Board President:
|
Michael Halley CVB Board President |
It's an exciting and very busy time for the CVB, with many new projects to develop and many old ones to reinvigorate. Our new Executive Director, Rustin Lippincott, has been spending his first weeks on the job meeting with as many community activists as his schedule allows while simultaneously revamping the CVB website and planning for a very productive 2007. All of us on the CVB Board have the utmost confidence in Rustin's abilities to expand upon our existing programs and help grow our fledgling organization into an even more viable and valuable asset for our community. We have just recently completed revision to the CVB Grant Program as per the City Council's recommendation, and the response has been encouraging. Next week we will be holding a special session to finalize the Fairfield branding concepts, which will be used by local artists to create an advertisement for the State Division of Alcoholic Beverages trailer that was so generously offered to alldesignees of the Great Places program. These same branding concepts will be used for our a newly designed CVB website as well asour annual and semi-annual publications, creating a unified "brand" for Fairfield that will be easily recognizable and that expresses the core values of our community. It's a great time for any and all community members who have an interest in expanding Fairfield's presence in the tourism market to join the CVB's sister organization - Team Tourism (see Rustin or Jody for more details). There is so much potential for growth in all areas of our wonderful community, and I encourage everyone to get involved in whatever way they can to be a part of that growth and help make our city a model of what can be accomplished when we embrace our past and reach for a brighterfuture. Thanks for all you do to make Fairfield such a wonderful place to live and visit, Michael Halley CVB Board President |
The Next Team Tourism Meeting is scheduled for March 27th at noon at the Farm Bureau Building – Hope to see you there!!!
Would You Like To Help Promote Fairfield?
Joining “Team Tourism” is a great way to get involved with attracting tourism to Fairfield. It’s a fun group of interesting people taking a direct approach to “selling” Fairfield and all it has to offer to group tours, family weekend vacations, day trippers, etc. By attracting more visitors, you also increase the potential for getting more people into your business, and that’s good for everyone. Team Tourism meets once a month over the lunch hour to report on ongoing projects, marketing, etc. and to develop new ideas that help make Fairfield stand out as the place everyone will want to visit.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR NEW MEMBERS AND FRESH IDEAS, so if you would be interested in joining Team Tourism please contact Jody Conger at (472-2111) or email jconger@fairfieldiowa.com
Please contact Jody Conger for the 2007 Team Tourism meeting dates if you would like to participate.
Anyone interested in volunteering to be a step-on guide, (we will train), please contact Jody at the Chamber (472-2111) or email her at jconger@fairfieldiowa.com.
